Welcome to calebd.net, the web portfolio of me, Caleb Delnay. I am a CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ certified computer technician and a website developer. My education is focused on Information Technology, and in particular, Computer Network Systems. I primarily study the technology involved in creating, managing, and deploying computer networks. My experience includes working with both Windows and Linux based networks in a variety of different scenarios and circumstances. I have completed my Associates of Applied Science in Computer Network Systems, which I received in September of 2007. Eventually I will continue my education toward a bachelor's degree in a field which interests me.
Although my education was focused on computer network systems, I used (and continue to use) my free time to explore other computer related topics. Such topics include application programming and website development. Through my own efforts, I have become highly knowledgeable on developing and deploying websites powered by open source and free software such as Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP. I've also become acquainted with other web technologies, such as HTML, XHTML, XML, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), and JavaScript.
Project development has molded me into a disciplined programmer and manager. I require every web project I work on to meet high standards of accessibility, security, usability, privacy, and to satisfy the various specifications and guidelines established by the W3 Consortium. Non-web projects are designed with similar goals, focusing on presentation, simplicity, and thoroughness.
Beyond Information Technology, I also spend a lot of time learning what I can in science and mathematics. When I'm not working on my computer, I enjoy reading, writing, practicing piano, and watching the Discovery, History, and National Geographic channels.
The summation of my work can be seen in the portfolio section of this website. My resume, detailing all of the technology I am familiar with and my experience to date, can be found in various formats in the resume section.
